Kat Mills is an artist, filmmaker, and yogini based in Los Angeles. Since 2008, Kat has studied the various disciplines of yoga, meditation, non-dual philosophy, and most recently, tea ceremony. Greatly influenced by the traditional yogic and tantric arts, her work is centered around navigating the subtle body and chakra system, awakening the mind through meditation and dreams, honoring and preserving the divine feminine, conscious relationship and communication, and re-establishing a deep connection with the natural world.
Kat's practice and teaching are greatly influenced by Bhakti Yoga, Kundalini Tantra, and Tibetan Buddhism. She has had the privilege to receive direct transmissions and training from respected teachers in these traditions. Her dedication to conscious evolution has been cultivated through on-going practice and training, teaching assistance, personal apprenticeship, and retreat. She continues to study Classical Hatha, Tantric Sadhana, Yoga Nidra, Swara Yoga, Tattwa Shuddi, Vedic Numerology, Dream Yoga, and more with her primary teacher Yogi Charu. Kat practices tea ceremony in the Urasenke tradition under the tutelage of Tea Master Sosei Matsumoto. Mastumoto Sensei was instrumental in bringing tea ceremony to the United States, and taught up until her passing at 103.
Kat joyfully teaches yoga, meditation, and kirtan in group and private sessions in Los Angeles and online. She hosts retreats in California, Hawaii, Bali, and beyond. She currently teaches public yoga classes at Yogala in LA. She is a 500+ hour certified yoga and meditation teacher.
In 2015, Kat created Wildstate as a vehicle to share these offerings from the traditions that flow through her for the benefit of all beings.
